Toplist question!
« on: May 31, 2013, 10:20:43 PM »
Okay my hosting doesn't allow for chmod 777 or 666! But I did get the toplist to build but is there anyway in the settings to rebuild toplist only manually? Because when the script rebuilds the toplist it changes my toplist html file to 777 then I have to go into file manager and reset it back to 755!

Also one more thing I am using the script with wordpress and trying to add the toplist using the widgets and I tried everything! I can add it to my sidebar if I don't use the widgets but when I use the widget nothing shows! I thought maybe you might have an idea how to make it work with the wordpress widgets!

Hi, there is no way to stop rebuilding toplist. And yes, toplist needs to be 666 or 777 to work (rebuilds).

About widget I think in past I used some kind oh php include wordpress widget(plugin) and it worked fine.

well that really sucks!!!! I'm on hostgator and they don't allow 777 or 666 setting on files! I guess I'll see if I can get ATX trade script to work with my wpxtube plugin again! Only choice I have I guess! Because I tried everything else!

You know I have been using them for years with great support and actually no down time! Most every other script I have used rewrites fine using 755 and this is only script I have used that actually changes my permissions when it write to toplist! Now I wouldn't have a problem with it but when it writes the toplist it doesn't only change the toplist page permissions there are a load of files it changes permissions on and I have to go in everytime and change them back to 755! I'm going to try removing all the toplist stuff and see if it still resets the permissions on all the other items!

Alternatively, you could have another server build your toplist, if you setup the networking option, it could compile and get the .set file on another server and display on yours.
