wierd thing happening with tp and nubiles.
« on: December 10, 2010, 06:05:47 AM »
I have tp installed on my nubiles tube site and for the most part it seems to be functional,  However since I installed something within the script keeps changing the root dir permissions to 777.    I am using apthost and for this to function I set folders to 755 and files to 644  like the tut says.

what does the cron.php  do in this site?   Or anyone have an idea of what this could be?

Hi, tp to work since it writes data to file databases and also web updater needs such permissions need to be 777 recursive (all files and folders inside tp folder + tp folder itself).

Cron.php is started each 1 minute automatically so no need to set it in cronjob(on each page load it's cehecked if cron needs starting and if yes it's auto started).

If you wanna use TP find host which gives you permissions it needs.
