We may update this file through the site: http://www.maxmind.com/app/geoip_country or the TP is the update? The date and size of GeoIP.dat is more recent than what is currently running at TP.

Update: http://geolite.maxmind.com/download/geoip/database/GeoLiteCountry/GeoIP.dat.gz

Thanks for help 8)

It is strange. The original GeoIP.dat is 1.11MB in size and when do the update through the TP size is 1.07MB. What is wrong with TP? Will he do the right update?

Cheers :-\

GeoIP.dat is fetched from OUR update server, not directly from their site. That's why U see diff size(diff versions).

MaxMind will update each 1st of each month their files :) But otherwise is there any possibility to define to use own GeoIP (like through PHP server variables)  instead of included file ??

I can add such possibility, if needed.

Hi Kildoozer, I use this method to make my own IN stats within MaxMind service (which is installed on servers) and there I have included the city information too (40MB+). For someone - as I do it - who will use own MaxMind GeoIP files and have it implemented into all servers/apache this way would/can be much more detailed and more up-to-date for country (maybe city stats) too.

So if you can add it it would be a very nice feature ;)
