It's not a biggie to set up.

What do you need to know?

its may not be but 4 people, 2 of which are tgp experts could not set it up to work...I think it was  server related.then things get into hosting advocates.I would prefer to pay someone to install it and get it set up successfully.I have a hard time believing this wont work on hostgator but that is what I get  so far as excuse or reason.                               this script require 777 at least to set up and that is first problem but it will install after change all to 755 .but after going past this obstacle and installing it,it doesn't work right and crashes

Go with dreamhosting if you are looking 4 shared hosting. they do allow 777. no decent trade script will run in 755. i dont even think any trade script runs in 755. Get back to me later, I can help you to set it up.

this is what always I hear .i was told same thing about smart thumbs and after secmod it works fine. I am not looking to get in hosting debates ...those never end.this script has request for this                                                                                                                                                   1) Set permissions on your ROOT(htdocs,public_html,www...) directory "777" ....not allowed on my host

2) Create directory "tp" inside your root directory and set the permissions "777" for this directory ...not allowed on host

3) Copy file (in binary mode!) "install.php" to the root directory and set the permissions "777" for this file not allowed on my host
so have to use 755 .....result?= script installs then internal server error on tp/login.php to access admin . I had similar problems with  st but that script has a option to install with 633 permission on the installer ..after I use that that version ....it works on my host. This is the issue where problem comes from with script pulse I think..if there is someone who can install this I am still looking ....may be workaround

I used to have the same problem. I was banging my head against the wall. why the hell I cannot set up tp to work ... Then I found out that my host does not allow 777. Reality is, that trade pulse (and 99% of other trade scripts) need 777 permissions to work. Find a host that allows that. As I said, Dreamhost is great in that respect. Problem solved.
