Topic: Unable To Access Login.php

Hello,

I have a dedicated server with Hostgator. (I read through SP forum regarding hostgator & TP).
I have installed the script on my subdomain successfully,
But I'm unable to access /tp/login.php as it redirects to homepage.

Subdomain: http://tgp.domain.com
/tgp permission : 755
/tgp/tp permission: 777

If I chmod /tgp from 755 to 777, I get "Internal Server Error" on http://tgp.domain.com

What should I ask my host to fix this issue ?

Installation successfully completed
Please login to admin area and change user/pass (current user: admin, pass: password).

I chmod /tp (Recursive into all subdirectory files and folders) to 755, It worked.
I was able to login to my admin area.

Now, Will I be able to use Trade Pulse without any problems ?

Change host. Period.

Basically TP needs 777 permissions AT LEAST on all database files etc to run normally.

Please just buy another host, for example people are happy with crohoster.info(and it's cheap).

I Lost My Site !

In Trade Pulse,
I added template: Tools -> Toplists -> Add new template.. select "Input by" -> File
Path: /user/public_html/subdomainfolder

On Submit It went to '500 Internal Server Error'.
Also my TGP site results in '500 Internal Server Error' now.

Pl help retrieving my site back to normal.

Got back my site. Some of the folder permissions were automatically changed to 777.

chmod files which do not work with 755 or 644 and problem solved. I told you, switch to better host

It's a fully managed dedicated server with hostgator.
I think they might be able to resolve this 777 permission.
But what exactly should I ask them to do?

Just ask them to enable 777 permissions and chmod tp folder and all files inside with 777 permissions.

That is a security risk and scripts should be corrected to work without 777 permission.

I can make this update for you though friend,
it is not a problem but I only wanted you to know.

Checked my site. It was the same: 500 Internal Error.

Unfortunately we are unable to do that. The reason is hostgator does not allow those permissions to run on their servers.

Rep 3:

Permission 777 will not be allow on cPanel, if you have a file with that permission you will get an error when you visit that file on the internet.

I said: But the previous rep said he enabled 777 permission.

Rep 3:

He can change the permission of the files to 777 but it will show an error on the page.

Sad. I won't be able to use Trade Pulse

Why not try another host? Hostgator is actually not good choice imho
