Better Support for Multi Niche Sites
« on: April 24, 2010, 06:26:42 AM »
Hi guys,

Better support for multi-niche/category sites.  Groups is an outdated way to support a multi-niche/category site.  Something like niche=page would be the answer I think.

Anyway, what a vast improvement you guys have made since Proton & Progress .... keep up the good work :)

Cheers

THnx, but I actually don't understand how and what should we do, there are groups already for niche trading :)

Hi,

Simplify things by page = niche, you would for instance have ebony.php which would be = to ebony niche.

So in other words each niche would trade separately on different pages.

Off course each niche=page would need to have a path for that page specified, or something like that, making it easier and more accurate to trade by niche.  No niche would mean overall trading, I am not a programmer :-)

I'm sure you understand, perhaps the word groups is confusing, maybe it should be niche.

I can see that tp does support this, but how much it supports different pages I don't know.

Thanks

B

This is actually already done, using htaccess incoming tracker you can redirect different trades to different index pages, and using groups you can send from different pages to different niche trades.

Hello,

Yes, I understand now;  I however use lighttpd server which does not support htaccess, how would I then configure a certain page to represent a particular niche ..  ??

Many Thanks

Imho best then is to custom code small php script to redirect or better say include correct index based on referrer.
