Trade Pulse Support / Re: please help, blank page after latest update
« on: December 31, 2011, 12:35:08 PM »
It's happening to me too:

http://forum.scriptpulse.com/index.php/topic,1426.0.html

What worked for me to at least have a working admin again was to download install.zip, unzip it, re-run domain.com/install.php per the install instructions and then update to "Version 1.0.6 build 35" (zend version) but not to the later ioncube version.  If I attempt to install anything higher I get the blank page (just the background) in the admin.

After re-installing in this way over the existing install I did not lose any trades or stats.  But if you want to be sure you can try to use the export function (if you can get to it) or manually backup your files just in case.  Hope this helps at least until support can answer and Happy New Year.:)

Trade Pulse Support / Is an update being rolled out?
« on: December 31, 2011, 05:57:32 AM »
I noticed an update was available today.  I upgraded two sites to test (5-6 files were changed) and now these sites just display the background template and nothing else in both browsers.  But I can access tpupdater.php and updater.php.  I was just wondering if some update is on the way or if I need worry about getting hacked?  If you are rolling out an update you may want to check it since it did this on two sites.

Update:

It looks like it does it every time I upgrade to the ioncube version.  The latest version I can use without the problem seems to be v.35.

Even though it worked before and ioncube loader v.4 is definitely installed and working here is 'php -v'

Code: [Select]
Zend Engine v2.2.0, Copyright (c) 1998-2008 Zend Technologies
with the ionCube PHP Loader v4.0.0, Copyright (c) 2002-2010, by ionCube Ltd., and
with Zend Optimizer v3.3.9, Copyright (c) 1998-2009, by Zend Technologies

My other installs which are using v.41 (ioncube) are working fine but they show an update available.

hmm, so if usa surfer has weight of 2, then $Din has value of 2 ?

I believe so too.  But it would be best for Kildozer or ip0li to confirm.

+1  ;)

It might also be a good idea to require email (probably better) or ICQ verification too so the cheaters won't be as able impersonate people as easily.

Trade Pulse Support / Re: spiders traffic

I'm having problem with spider traffic as well. I had you look into my admin a few days ago and I set it to noskim 100% to content like you suggested but it is still going to trades.
Also, I have many hits to no_link and every outgoing has a link specified on my site.
I would like a way to stop spider traffic from messing up my stats.

Hello, one thing that caught me in your situation was spider traffic can still go to trades by way of your toplists unless you are filtering your toplists too: Settings -> Out -> "Do not filter clicks from toplist ".  I don't know if that is happening to you or if you want to do that.

Trade Pulse Support / Re: no ins, but clicks

Contact me with ftp info next time, I'll found out that's the clicks without ins. But I'm 100% sure here is no any bugs in the script. It may be some kind of bot who keeps the cookies for a long time, can't say exactly.

Kildoozer, no it can definitely be duplicated with a normal browser just by disabling Javascript (I use NoScript - unfortunately it's pretty popular for Firefox so a good % of surfers -- maybe like 5% -- will use it too) and clicking on the toplist.  All by doing a type in.  Try the procedure above to duplicate it.  I'm able to duplicate it again and again consistently every time using that procedure.

It will award clicks to the first (usually) or second toplist entry you click and then when you click on subsequent toplist entries when you have javascript disabled and come in as a type-in it will continue to register each click out as a normal trade click assigned to the trade you first (or sometimes the 2nd ti seems) clicked on.  It seems to be mis-allocating clicks.

I actually induced it here in this screenshot: http://allthefetishes.com/trades/tp_clickbug2.png
by using the above procedure.  Note the "Threat 100" - I think it's because all those clicks were with javascript off (filtered). :)

no_link can then include gallery clicks too depending on how you have things setup.  So it's not necessarily a bad thing to see no_link. ;)

Here I can confirm something like this happening but with hourly:

http://allthefetishes.com/trades/tp_clickbug1.png

Look at the first trade in the light blue columns.  0 in, 5 out, 2 clicks.  Then look further and see that those two clicks are "trade clicks" (t. clicks).  This supports my theory of it being related tot he bug described above.  But I guess for hourly it's also possible the trade had one in last hour and they are just now clicking this hour.  This one is natural and just happened.  I didn't induce it.  So I guess it is happening "in the wild".

Here is another screenshot on a different site showing the problem for daily clicks:

http://allthefetishes.com/trades/tp_clickbug2.png

Check the purple columns and notice the first one.  0 IN, 7 Out, 9 clicks.  Then move over and look at "t. clicks"  -- all clicks are trade clicks.  This one I induced myself with the above procedure.

Here is part of detailed stats for this last trade:

http://allthefetishes.com/trades/tp_clickbug3.png

Again it is confirmed.  0 IN but 20 clicks although 11 weren't counted probably because of my maximum click setting.

I hope this helps.

There is actually what appears to be a related bug I found when doing some testing.  I don't know if it's the cause of what you see or not but to duplicate:

1. Use a clean browser free of cookies.  Disable javascript (I use Noscript).

2. Find some trades in your toplist which have 0 ins and 0 clicks. (Preferably to your other sites so you are not technically cheating anyone!)  Keep track of which site you clicked on first and second.

3. Visit your site as a type in.

4. Click on the trades identified in #2 with 0 clicks and 0 ins approximately 1 second apart.  This probably won't work if you chose to filter toplist clicks in settings->out and redirect them to a special page.  It didn't work for me.

5. Check your stats after a minute or so (if high traffic, if not it may take longer).  You will probably notice the first or second site you clicked on now has some clicks - apparently for some reason TP is counting the clicks OUT which you just made to those trades.  You'll also notice it still has 0 IN.

I'm not sure which other conditions will trigger this.  It looks like it only messes up on toplist clicks with javascript off right now but it's possible the bug is manifesting in other undetected ways which I'm not seeing.

It's not a big deal as all software has bugs and this probably happens in rare conditions but you guys might want to check close this one to make TP even more perfect. :)  In a worst case scenario I believe if a bot came and started clicking on your toplist in sequential order it might very well award +1 "click" to the first or second trade - one for every toplist click on your other trades. So at the same time it's probably not a "brush off" bug either.

Is there any way to get the current hour and use it within the algo ?

Nevermind on this.  I figured out a way to get it after some thought.  :)

41
Sorry for delay.
The answer is
Quote
3. The hour 0 based upon server time (i.e. the midnight hour - midnight to 1 am)
, multiplied on traffic quality weight.

Thank you.  :)  I've been experimenting with this here: http://www.askdamagex.com/f2/why-shouldnt-trade-script-mainly-use-effect-50368/index2.html#post455190

Is there any way to get the current hour and use it within the algo ?  date() does not seem available nor the other things I could think of.  Sorry to bother you again but I thought you might know something I'm not considering.  Maybe there is some variable with the current hour in it which I can reference?

Hello not to be a PITA but I was just wondering if there is any info about this?  I have some things that I would like to experiment with where this could be useful.

Trade Pulse Support / Re: Out Settings?
« on: November 18, 2011, 06:41:28 AM »

Hello sorry to bump this topic but just for clarification:

As far as the algorithm is concerned (say default 'Tradepulse'), if I UNcheck say COUNTED CLICKS-> Clicks (from a trade) -> No img does this then mean that within the algorithm NO IMG clicks from a trade will not be counted at all?
Right.

And then the same question for COUNTED CLICKS->    Outs (to a trade) -> No img ... does that NO IMG click to a trade count for the purposes of the algorithm as a hit out?
No Img out in this case (no matter where it gone - trades, gallery) will belong to 'notcounted' trade. It won't take part in algorithm at all.

Or is this all simply for the purposes of the stats display and dynamic skim settings only?  I just want to make sure since this all appears in Settings->Out one might easily think it does determine what is counted as far as the algorithm is concerned too.
It's global settings, not only for displaying the stats.

Awesome job then!  That has always been one of the things that I wanted to see changed - some way to change it so that a trade would get no credit (instead of just relying on anti-cheat modifiers) for things like NO IMG and NO COOKIE clicks.

Now the user is able to decide what to do.

Again, excellent work.  ;)

Hi Chris.
About spiders and counted traffic.
How it was before: a spider come to your site, clicked many times, gone to trades and galleries. Now, if you uncheck in the 'out settings' -> 'counted clicks' -> 'Outs (to a trade)' for spiders, CLICK will be counted to spiders (and you'll see these clicks in the spiders' stats), but OUT will be counted for 'notcounted' trader, even if it has been sent to a trade. Your traders' stats will be accurate.

About your second issue with P1 - let me look at this admin area, you know my email.

Trade Pulse Bug Reports / Re: Second click feature no longer working ?
« on: November 16, 2011, 01:29:00 PM »
If url= parameter is same, no it should not happen.

So did U click on link with SAME url parameter(same thumb)?

Ah.  That might explain it.  No they were different thumbs.  I had assumed that it meant no two (any) gallery clicks would go to trades in a row.  I guess I can see where that might make sense to do it that way, I just assumed it was implemented differently.  You learn something new everyday.   No bug then.  Thanks for the quick answer. ;)
