Title: Question about external info
Post by: binkatl on December 12, 2008, 12:07:39 AM
Is there any harm in just turning on the external info support for all trades?  I don't know which of my trades supports external info, and which don't.  If I have external info on for a trade, and they don't support it, will it cause problems?  Or will the other script just ignore the extra info?

Thanks...

U can safely turn it ON for all trades, it doesn't affect anything..it's just addition to url and other trade scripts will not read it, they will show normal page ofcourse :)

What if my TGP is on domain.com/tgp/

I've had TP users send traffic to one of my sites not using TP and prod on my end was almost 0 and normal when the other webmaster switched off the external info for my site..

So, is it possible that it causes problems when a TP users sends traffic to a location that is not the root of the the other domain?

use external info SHOULD NOT cause ANY PROBLEMS becasue it' simply add's GET variable to the url....so like somedomain.com/file.php?x=123.1234.5467....if scritps supports it it will read x variable, othervise x variable will be just ignored!

I can assure you there is a strange problem sometimes with other sites going 404 when the external info stuff is on. Do you have ICQ? I don't want to post my domain here but I can show you an example directly.

ok, TP is not the problem!

It seems like my blog script has problems with this external info extension.
