well i signed to a non buddy trade, was added on my site and on his, but trade never started from his side, so i wonder if he did get a signup email that he had a chance to enable the trade. so that i get it right if a trade signed up via trade pulse the webmaster gets a normal signup email right?

yes he should get it if mailer is enabled.
