Title: Feeding Traffic to A New Site
Post by: cPimp on April 27, 2010, 10:33:36 PM
Hey guys,

I am wanting to feed clicked traffic to some of my newer sites who can use some traffic. What I would like to know is, how can I set up a 'trade' in the admin, to send traffic out to a domain, without regard for how much I get back from that domain?

I've tried tweaking certain numbers within the settings for the trade with little to no success, and sometimes even making the clicked/skimmed traffic decrease to the site.

I wouldn't mind using the hourly force, 24 hour force or something in that realm, but I need it to not pay any attention to any incoming traffic from that domain, and send traffic regardless of what I receive.

Another example, would be for selling clicked traffic to trafficholder. How would i get the script to actually send the traffic to TH, without trying to be skimpy because it's not getting anything back from TH.

Best way to do any of those is with forces or boosts.

can you implement a new setting to be a one way traffic trade or force, disregarding the amount/quality of incoming from the domain in the future? Would love to see this.

As I said you can use both boosts and forces one way!

Maybe I should try to be more clear, and say that I have already tried that, and I have already tried altering other settings like return % of incoming, etc, and nothing helps out at all.

I'm new to TP as well, but I had a problem where my force was becoming "autostopped". Make sure the min clicks to autostop the trade is at 0, not 1.

Yeah, it's set at 0 now. Thing that is getting frustrating though is no matter how I tweak the settings, site2 is sending MORE traffic to the feeding site, site1, then site 1 is sending out to site2! This is insane! lol

Why you simply don't set timed force and problem solved? SO force for example 20 per hour for 9999 hrs to feed trade and problem solved.

Because it obviously does not work like that or else I wouldn't be here asking ;) I set it to be exactly that, but it would send out a max of about 100 every 24 hours... that's about 4 an hour, not 20. I've tried disabling any return from my new site to the feeder site, and that doesn't help either.

The saddest part about the whole situation is that I have a one way trade set up for another site and it sends about 700 every 24 hours. Exact same settings. Doesn't make any sense at all to me.

Yeah, solved. For some reason some real intricate shit I worked on did not save, hence the reason some links weren't set up to go thru TP. Thanks ipoli for looking into it! I wouldn't have insisted something was wrong all this time if I didn't do the work I did!
